Russ spent over 30 years in the financial services industry and founded Harvest Advisers. Russ’ passion for serving clients, and for helping them “do well by doing good” with charitable giving and estate planning, continues on. Though no longer advising, Russ is still part of the Harvest team and maintains friendships with many former clients and colleagues.
Russ graduated Williams College and later earned a master’s degree in counseling and theology. He was involved in the peace and social justice movements in the 1960s and 1970s; among many other stories, ask him about meeting Dr. Martin Luther King.
When he came to financial services in 1984, he brought with him ten years of experience as a university chaplain, lecturer and dean, along with ten more years as a teacher, administrator, and director of counseling at two private secondary schools.
Russ is active in many Quaker organizations and is a member of Gwynedd Meeting. Russ has Chaired or served on the Board of Intervention Associates, the Pennsylvania Prison Society, Friends Life Care, the Planned Giving Council of Greater Philadelphia, and has twice chaired Planned Giving Day in Philadelphia. Russ and his wife, Ginger Hamilton, have five children and twelve grandchildren.
